YWCA University (YU) is a free financial empowerment program that has been changing the lives of Kaua‘i residents for 5 years! Registration is now open for our Fall Session – sign up online at healthymoneychoices.org. Classes will be held on Thursdays in September: 9/2, 9/9, 9/16, 9/23, 9/30 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm via Zoom.
This program is made possible through a grant from The Allstate Foundation and led by Marjorie Bennett, CFA. Marjorie and other local guest presenters deliver a comprehensive financial management curriculum designed to provide participants with the knowledge they need to achieve economic security. Topics include budgeting, saving, credit repair, housing resources, financial aid for college, Legal Aid, and more. Past participants have learned how to budget, improve their credit score (with some joining the ‘800 club’), and a few have even become homeowners! Eligible participants may also qualify for a $200 savings match.
